Marriage Proposal Ideas

Take her out to a fancy restaurant to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, Valentines Day, or other memorable event. When it comes time for dessert, get the waiter to deliver the dessert with flowers and with a special personalized note attached. At this time, take out the engagement ring and propose.

While on vacation, take advantage of romantic opportunities that may arise. For instance, propose to your ‘beloved’ while on a sailboat or hot air balloon ride – both of these settings provide excellent backdrops for a memorable marriage proposal.

Take your girlfriend on a walk in a park or beach. Stop at an area where you previously spelled out “Will you marry me?” in rocks or seashells where they are available. Immediately get down on your knee and propose with your diamond ring.

Place an ad on the radio or in a newspaper if you know that she listens to the radio or reads the newspaper at a certain set time each day. Follow up of course with a personal proposal immediately.

Consider videotaping yourself asking your girlfriend to marry you. After a romantic meal that you cooked or catered, say that you want to watch an old videotape of yours. Of course, it will be the videotape of you “popping the question” – follow up with the ring – she will definitely be surprised.

While on an airplane together, consider asking the pilot to deliver your “will your marry me?” message aboard the plane when airborne. Then … you guessed it … pull out your engagement ring and propose to her.

Consider visiting an upscale Chinese restaurant for dinner – when it comes time for the fortune cookie, let her open up a fortune cookie that contains a dazzling diamond ring and a marriage proposal fortune.

Consider the fun of having a scavenger hunt with clues – of course, the last clue ultimately ends with you proposing to your girlfriend in a romantic manner.

If the two of you both enjoy the outdoors, consider asking her to spend her life with you in this environment. For instance, you can “pop the question” on the summit of a mountain, next to a serene body of water, or even immediately after parachuting or hang gliding.

Thinking of the ultimate “fairy tale” engagement? Contemplate proposing to your girlfriend at Walt Disney World near Cinderella’s castle – how can a woman resist a real life Prince Charming? Along similar lines, proposing at any castle will have a similar effect.

After a night spent in front of a fireplace at a charming bed and breakfast, “break out” the engagement ring, tell your girlfriend how much she means to you, and ask her to marry you.

If it is her birthday or another special occasion, wrap the ring up in consecutively larger boxes. She will no doubt be eager to find the contents of the box when the gift is wrapped in such a mysterious manner. When she does open up the jewelry box, … you know what to do next.

If it is December and you do annually decorate a holiday tree, ask her to aid you in this holiday endeavor. Then, hand her an ornament … with an engagement ring attached. Alternatively, you can leave the tree “as is” except for one item … namely the engagement ring box that is attached to tree. Both of these ideas are even better if both of you especially treasure the holiday season.

At the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, have your engagement ring ready and ask your girlfriend to marry you. One thing is for certain when you use this method; you will never forget the day that you proposed. (Well … hopefully not)

Construct a website that consists of a picture of you and your girlfriend … and the question “will you marry me?” Of course, feel free to add any other pertinent information to this website as well such as a poem and or other meaningful prose. Then … when the two of you are casually browsing the Internet, simply visit this website with your engagement ring handy.

If you live in an area where you can go on a horse drawn carriage ride or other similar ride, do so (preferably after a romantic dinner). Then, when the moment is right, propose to your girlfriend in this magical setting.

If your girlfriend works in an office or school where there is an intercom, consider proposing over this medium. Can you imagine her surprise when she hears your voice over the loud speaker? If you play a portion of “your song” over the intercom before or during your speech, this act will only add to the “uniqueness” of the moment.
