Invisible Setting
Invisible Setting

The Invisible Setting was invented in France over two hundred years ago. The main purpose of this type of setting is to give the impression that a number of smaller diamonds are in fact one much larger diamond.

The small diamonds are grouped together so that the setting is hidden from view and hence, invisible. The overall effect is one of maximum glitter.

Tiny (usually Brilliant cut) diamonds are placed close together on the surface of a ring. The diamonds are set into grooves or held by simple prongs. These Pave settings do come in many different styles, but usually Pave settings surround a larger central diamond so as to create a definitely spectacular look.

However, because of the number of stones or diamonds needed to create the Pave setting, these rings can be quite expensive. Another option is to use imitation stones (such as Cubic Zirconia) if you still desire this glittering design.

Ballerina Setting

The Ballerina setting consists of a center stone that is surrounded by a series of diamonds that are cut in a tapered Baguette style. The resulting look? A ring setting that resembles an elegant ballerina's tutu or skirt. Perfect for an individual that appreciates a more classic and ornate style of ring, this setting is mainly used to highlight the importance of the central gemstone.
