How hard are rubies?
Another reason why rubies may be so popular is due to their excellent durability. In fact, rubies are second only to diamonds with respect to “hardness” and they do rate highly on the Moh’s scale of hardness (9). Of course, we all know that diamonds do measure a 10 on Moh’s scale of hardness.
