December’s Birthstone: Turquoise
Turquoise ranges in color from green, to blue green, to a sky blue color. Turquoise forms when water percolates through rocks that contain aluminum, copper, and other minerals. A chemical reaction than occurs that results in deposits of what we now know as turquoise. However, this process does take millions of years. Southwest aboriginals believed that turquoise brought good luck to hunters, and general happiness to everyone. Today, the calming color of turquoise will be certain to make you happy.
